About Elizabeth Amanda
My name’s Elizabeth Amanda and if you were expecting to see where I studied art and what awards I’ve won…well, I took art in High School a million moons ago and I did win Artist of the Year Award my Senior year. That about sums it up. Then my barn burned down the first time at age 19. I have two gorgeous daughters who have given me six wonderful grandchildren as a result of that barn-burning.
My barn burned down again at age 40 when I had a brain tumor. The full moon rose brightly the day the doctor said it was benign, they’d gotten all of it, and I had no brain damage. A few seizures to deal with in the aftermath, but all in all, I still knew that I could see the moon. And the blessing that came was a turning toward my spiritual path, which allowed me to live as a Buddhist nun for the next 20 years, years rich with unimaginable blessings as well as heartbreak.
Then my barn burned down again. I guess astrologers would tell me my 20 year pattern has to do with the eclipse cycles of the moon, which run I think 19.5 years. I’ve returned to living as a lay practitioner, and am not only learning to draw and paint, but to write blogs, and studying internet marketing! Who’d have thought at 60 I’d be exploring whole new worlds? The moon is shining brightly once again.
I hope my life experiences will contribute to whatever ends up coming out in my blog and as they say, I can share my experience, strength and faith in inherently available blessings.
