Horse Carrying the Jockey
This was a huge huge challenge for me: a human AND a horse! This is in acrylics on a 9×12 panel and one of three I put up for sale. I want to sell my artwork to support animal rescue work, specifically dogs and parrots.
The reference photo is thanks to Linda Shantz, an amazing equine artist and she held a challenge on her forum. I unfortunately did not complete it in time but thoroughly enjoyed painting this!
Update 10/18/09: My sis just told me the horse is fabulous but the jockey’s face is kinda scary. She’s right. I may redo another one of this someday but it was still good fun doing it.
