Children’s Book Pages

Another site I visit daily and browse articles in is About.com:Painting. Marion Boddy-Evans does a great job of making sure truly helpful information is constantly added to the site. She also posts a monthly challenge for artists which helps to focus you on one color, or one style, or whatever that month is. I decided to be really brave and participate in the month the challenge was to produce two illustrations for a childrens’ book, which was about “Misty” (you could make this a person or a dog) looking for a little lost lamb. I chose the page where Misty was “looking high and looking low”, and the page where they saw “a bit of white fluff peeking through the grass”. I have greater respect for illustrators of books now – you have to take into consideration making everything similar, page layout, etc.
